Email from ALSO member, Joe Morgan out to SLIS student organization leaders:
"Hey everyone, do you remember how boring it is when you move to a new town and don't know anyone or where anything is? Well, you can help out the incoming students. A few of us have talked about ways we can help socialize with the incoming students. We especially think it would be valuable for different student groups to take charge of a different day. (Special Library Student Group leads bowling, ALA student chapter hits the terrace).
Here are a few activities we think would be fun for our incoming fellow SLISers:
August 16: Terrace Afternoon
August 19: BowlingAugust 21: Pictionary/Game Night
August 22: Farmer's Market
August 29: Meet the neighborhood (small groups checkout downtown or state street or monroe street or east side"
What do you guys think? Please comment to this blog posting if you'd be interested in volunteering your time with ALSO to host one of these events, or feel free to suggest another idea!

It's pretty simple. Show up talk to new people. Should be fun.
