Announcing the next ALSO MEETING! - Wednesday, November 11th, 2009


Calling all ALSO members and SLIS Students interested in Academic Librarianship or Collection Development!

Bring your lunch and Join ALSO on Wednesday Nov. 11th from 11:45-12:45 in the SLIS Commons for a lunch time discussion about Collection Development.

Joining us for the discussion will be
  • Jim Buckett, collection manager at Steenbock Library
  • Pamela O'Donnell, reference and collection development librarian at College Library
  • Julianne Haahr, Western European History & Social Sciences Librarian at Memorial Library
These campus librarians will share a little about their career paths and their primary duties now. They will also entertain any questions you may have. Please let us know if you have anything specific that you would like to hear them address by commenting on this post or emailing us at also.uw@gmail.com.

At the gathering there will also be a sign up to become an official member of ALSO! If you are unable to make it but still want to be an official member of our student org. Send us an email at also.uw@gmail.com letting us know.

    I should be able to make the meeting I think. I would be curious how they got interested in collection development.
