ALSO is currently applying for official recognition as a registered student organization at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In order to do so, we must submit a formal constitution for our organization. Amanda and Jessica are drafting an outline to get us started, and then we will ask for input from all members of the group after Spring Break.
In the meantime, we also need full contact information from two members of the organization in addition to Amanda and Jessica in order for our registration to be accepted. As co-chairs, Amanda and Jessica feel that it would be appropriate for a Secretary and Treasurer to help share some of the responsibility of the group. We are looking for a secretary to help us take notes at meetings and post them to the blog (Amanda and Jessica will serve as back ups for this responsibility when the Secretary is unable to attend events). We are also looking for a treasurer to manage the organization's finances once we begin doing fundraising events and taking field trips.
Neither of these positions will require much commitment, but will look great on your resumes and will help the co-chairs a great deal. The most important thing we need from these two individuals for now will be their full contact information including: name, home address, email address, and phone number. As soon as we have this information we can submit an tentative application for registering the group, which can not be fully accepted until we submit the constitution after break.
Please send an email to Amanda Kramer at adkramer@wisc.edu either volunteering to nominate yourself for one of these two positions, or nominating a colleague that you think would be a good candidate and willing to take the position. Please submit all nominations by 5pm tomorrow (Wednesday, March 11th). Once we have compiled the nominations we will email an election survey. The sooner we can fill these positions, the sooner we can register our organization with the university, which will gain us access to event space, sponsorship, and funding opportunities.
Please contact Jessica Gile at jgile@wisc.edu or Amanda Kramer at adkramer@wisc.edu if you have any questions.
