Join us next Monday morning, March 9th, at 11:30 in the SLIS Conference Room (off of the SLIS Commons) for an informal brown-bag lunch featuring guest speaker, Sarah McDaniel. Sarah coordinates the LILI (Library and Information Literacy Instruction) practicum at SLIS. She will be briefly speaking about the practicum's benefits to those interested in academic librarianship, and give us details about placement opportunities and the requirements of the program.Next week is advising week in SLIS, and ALSO strongly encourages anyone interested in working in an academic library after graduation to consider enrolling in this course next Fall as most job advertisements for academic reference librarians strongly emphasize instruction experience.
